Sustainable D.C.

The District is launching new product stewardship programs, expanding zero waste initiatives, and partnering with the private sector to create opportunities for waste reduction and reuse. According to the same source, since the execution of the Department of General Service’s wind power purchase agreement in 2015, 136,530 MWh of clean electricity has been generated, saving $819,000 and avoiding 95,950 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.- Sustainable D.C.
